The Winery List: Farm to Glass Wine Tours Visits the Best!

Hey hey!  As always, it's Jess from Farm to Glass Wine Tours.

There are plenty of wineries in the Okanagan Valley, how do you choose which ones you visit?

Do you visit wineries that were suggested to you from your local wine shop?

Did you read about an exciting new winery and producer in a wine magazine or newspaper?

Maybe you were gifted a special bottle on your birthday, anniversary or wedding and now the wine and winery holds a special place in your heart?

Or, maybe you ran into the winemaker at a farmers market in the city, and had a really great conversation about life, news and farming, and now you want to visit the winery to see where the magic happens.

Perhaps you just love wine so much, you just roll with your friends and family and just let them decide where your wine adventure may take you?

The Okanagan and Similkameen Valley has, give or take, 200 wineries combined, and are constantly growing.  Wineries by region are broken down as follows:

  • Penticton/Naramata/Kaleden ~ 52 wineries
  • Oliver ~ 42 wineries
  • Kelowna ~ 22 wineries
  • Summerland/Peachland ~ 22 wineries
  • Okanagan Falls ~ 15 wineries
  • Similkameen Valley/Cawston ~ 15 wineries
  • West Kelowna ~ 15 wineries
  • Osoyoos ~ 10 wineries
  • Lake Country/Vernon ~ 8 wineries

So how do you choose?  Let me help!  Choose the wine region you would like to visit, and I'll curate a fabulous day for you.

Because Farm to Glass Wine Tours visits some of the most exciting wine producers in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valleys.  These wineries focus on organic, sustainable, biodynamic and regenerative farming, and truly believe that wines start in the vineyard.

And let me tell you, farming this way is hard.  It's often more expensive, (organic products usually cost more for farmers, just like organic produce in grocery stores for us), it limits what you can do and when, which can cause high levels of stress and potential crop loss, certifications are expensive, so many choose not to do so, and because they prioritize the land over the amount of grapes they produce (also known as yields), they're putting the land first, instead of their bank accounts.

After all... studies are now showing that wines farmed this way taste better.

These people and their wines should be celebrated!

I've been lucky enough to build some beautiful relationships with some fantastic wine and cider producers in the Okanagan and Similkameen Valley, here's the list! (This will continuously be updated):

Will you travel for wine?  Well, so will I!

So let's go on a wine adventure, and I will guide you from the farm, to the glass.

As always...

Be Kind, Drink Wine

xoxo Jess
