Hey friends... it's Wednesday and that means it's #winerywednesday here at Farm to Glass Wine Tour.
I usually feature one winery a week, but I'm coming to you today to feature a handful of amazing wineries/ciders and a distillery from the #similkameen.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to share space with almost every single winery, cidery and a brand new distillery in Keremeos and Cawston where we learned about the micro terroirs of the valley, why it's so incredibly special, how terroir affects not only grapes but also fruit, reconnect with some amazing winemakers that have been 100% supporters of my Farm to Glass dream, and meet a gaggle of new ones.
Winery staff are the heartbeat to these wineries, and it was lovely to see everyone try everyone else's wines. The energy was a beautiful thing, and to have everyone under a beautiful roof, such as @rowfourteen was pure magic.
Did you know that this breathtaking valley is only 40 minutes from Penticton? 50 minutes from Summerland? 30 mins from OK Falls? 45 mins from Oliver? 30 mins from Osoyoos?
This might sound like a lot, but I swear... once you see the absolute beauty of the drive, as you slowly enter the valley with these dramatic mountains that just hug you from all sides... especially in the panaromic views in a Tesla (hint hint!) you won't even know where the time went. (Plus I have careoke if you need to be extra entertained)
The wines here are so unique and special, and though you may have never stopped at a winery in the Similkameen, or bought a wine from a winery here, there is a good chance that you have had a wine from a Okanagan winery that has sourced grapes from this valley, and it most likely was one of your favourite wines....
